Atik cameras – Apx60 with Sony IMX 455 61MP CMOS sensor

Atik Cameras expands its portfolio of CMOS imaging solutions for scientific and industrial imaging

Atik Cameras, a specialist designer and manufacturer of advanced scientific and industrial imaging solutions, has launched the first camera in the Apx series of high resolution complementary metal oxide (CMOS) semiconductor sensors.

After much waiting, Atik Cameras launches its most advanced CMOS camera, the Apx60, in the industrial, scientific and OEM sectors. This impressively large CMOS sensor uses 61,043,840 pixels on a 43.3mm diagonal sensor. Without amp glow, it is perfect for applications that demand large format images with exceptional detail such as microscopy, spectroscopy, PCB inspection, flat panel screening, colorimetry, neutron imaging, luminescence / fluorescence and astrophotography. The Apx60 comes with 17mm ± 0.5 back focus which can be reduced to 9.5mm ± 0.5, reliable cooling down to -35 ° C delta, 521MB buffer memory , anti-condensation and anti-glare optics to increase transmission, and Atik’s rugged build quality.

What sets Atik Cameras apart is the collaborative personalization service offered with each solution. The Apx60 can be supplied with a wide range of bespoke options, including an industrial grade ‘K’ sensor, guaranteed for continuous use, with an input / output trigger as standard. The enclosure can be tailored to meet specific requirements or opt for a simply supplied PCB deck solution. Atik provides a comprehensive software development kit, with expert integration assistance. In addition, all production takes place at Atik’s ISO-9001 accredited European manufacturing facilities.

This high specification imaging solution was originally expected to hit the market in 2020. However, as the company has diverted all of its resources to supporting and meeting the demand for PCR test imaging solutions during the pandemic, the development of the ‘Apx60 had to be delayed. Atik Cameras is now delighted to bring this long-awaited camera to the market.

Atik Cameras Director Dr Panos Kapetanopoulos commented, “With positive feedback from those with prototypes, our R&D team is already working with OEM customers to tailor the Apx60 to their exact specifications, putting customization at the forefront of advanced imaging solutions. “
