Grace Hollars Ranked 6th in International Photo of the Year Ranking

It’s impossible to miss Grace Hollars on the sidelines around Indianapolis. His boisterous personality is always pushed to 11, cheering everyone up with a camera to their eyeballs.

Speaking of can’t-miss, Hollars’ timely reflexes capture all the moments we’ll never forget.

Her skills were recognized by the prestigious Pictures of the Year International on Thursday, February 17, 2022, as she finished sixth – just outside the awarded positions – for her sports picture portfolio.

While Grace’s portfolio included high profile events like the Tokyo Olympics and the Indianapolis 500, her love is prep sports – true community journalism.

“You don’t have to go halfway around the world to tell great stories,” Hollars said. “There are great stories to be told in your own community. There are great stories on every pitch. Every pitch. Every pitch.”

These fleeting moments in the lives of young athletes would be missed without dedicated local photojournalists who are connected to the communities they cover. Grace was born and raised in Indiana and is committed to telling the stories of Hoosiers through her lens.

Journalists often answer questions from the community about why they should pay for news. Your subscription allows us to have a world-class photojournalist like Grace at the High School Wrestling State Finals and other events. Maybe she’ll take a picture of your child next time – or of you.
