Ice lined the Fifth Avenue Beach pier on Friday morning. A solid block of ice encapsulated the entire walkway. Icicles hung from the railings and chunks of ice floated in Lake Michigan near the pier.

Much of the sand also froze. Ice and snow are unlikely to melt anytime soon with a high expected for Saturday of 25 degrees. Sunday is expected to have a high of 19, with a high of 25 degrees Monday and 17 degrees Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
