Paramount Pictures has released a new teaser for Sonic the hedgehog 2, and if you are a fan of The matrix, You will enjoy. The 30-second clip is a light parody of Matrix resurrections, which hit theaters earlier this week.
The preview opens with The matrix’s digital code green curtain, then switches to Sonic (Ben Schwartz) as he says the line: “Face it. You’ll never catch me.” There is also a nod to The matrixthe rain-drenched aesthetic as well as the ultimate choice between red and blue that Morpheus gives Neo.
Check out the teaser below, which was posted with a play on The matrixThe iconic line of âI can only show you the door. It is you who must cross it. “:
Additionally, Paramount shared a brand new poster for Sonic the hedgehog, which mimics the poster design for Matrix resurrections. Instead of a red pill next to a blue pill, it’s a red pill quill and a blue quill. This is, of course, in reference to the choice to be made between Knuckles the Echidna (red) and Sonic the Hedgehog (blue). Genius.
The first one Sonic the hedgehog the movie, released in 2020, featured tons of easter eggs and pop culture references. It is therefore not surprising that the best way to advertise Sonic the hedgehog 2 is building on this winter’s most anticipated release. Everything is fun and will definitely encourage more Sonic fans to discover Matrix resurrections, if they weren’t already planning to do so. It’s a win-win.
Sonic the hedgehog 2 races in theaters on April 8, 2022.
