Next @ Acer: everything is announced


Acer went HAM overnight at its annual [email protected] world press conference, giving us a ton of laptops, Chromebooks, monitors, projectors and a desktop beast that will ship with the latest 12th gen Intel chip. Here’s everything the electronics giant has revealed.

Acer Vero Series

The Acer Vero green product line (green as well as environmentally friendly, not colored green) includes two new Vero laptops, a laptop PC, a monitor and a handful of accessories. Here are some of the main characteristics of each.

  • The Acer Aspire Vero: a 6-inch laptop powered by 11th generation Intel main processors.
  • Acer TravelMate Vero: Up to an 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB SSD.
  • The Acer Veriton Vero Mini: a mini desktop PC, an “array” of USB and display ports, including a USB-C port, and next-generation Intel Core vPro processors.
  • The Acer BR277 monitor: is a durable FHD monitor. From what we can see, the monitor relies on Acer’s Ergostand, which allows you to tilt, swivel, adjust height, and rotate the monitor.
  • Mice, mouse pads and covers are also included in this series.

Extensions of the ConceptD range

While [email protected], the company said the batch proves it’s dedicated to “breaking down barriers between people and technology.”

  • ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition Laptop: Includes 11th Generation Intel Core H processors and a variety of graphics options, including the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU, for creative professionals.
  • SpatialLabs Go app: Has received an update, which means it now uses AI to automatically convert and display 2D to stereoscopic 3D content, such as videos, pictures, simple games, and video call streams .
  • ConceptD 3 range: also gets an expansion with new clamshell models featuring a 16-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and new convertible models with 15.6-inch screens.

New Chromebooks

Acer has announced four new Chromebooks, hoping to leave no one behind with the line it says will meet the needs of business, school and entertainment. We have the Acer Chromebook 514, Chromebook Spin 514, Chromebook 515, and Chromebook Spin 314.

  • Chromebook 514: the 14-inch “all-rounder,” essentially the device that Acer thinks it can handle just about anything.
  • Chromebook Spin 514: 14-inch convertible model designed for on-the-go video conferencing.
  • Chromebook 515: Intended for “performance and conferencing”, this device has a 15.6-inch screen and is powered by Up to 11th Generation Intel Core i7 processors.
  • Chromebook Spin 314: the most economical of the group, with a 14-inch screen and up to 10 hours of battery life.

The company used [email protected] to unleash on us the Predator Orion 7000 desktop, notably running on the soon to be launched 12th generation Intel processor.

Headlining Predator Orion 7000 the beast is:

  • Support up to 64 GB of RAM
  • Up to an Nvidia RTX 3090 GPU
  • A range of storage options (both SSD and HDD)
  • Integrated 6E Wi-Fi
  • 10 USB ports (type A and type C)

Predator Gaming Desk: comes with a cup holder, helmet mount included, and a 55 inch carbon fiber top that can be covered with a massive Predator mouse pad, if that’s what you like.

Acer also made not one, but two different game projectors, with the GD711 offering LED projection up to 4K UHD resolution and variable refresh rate, while the GM712 uses a lamp projector that can produce up to 3,600 lumens.

More gaming monitors

Nitro XV2 Series: the Nitro XV272U KF is a 27 inch WQHD monitor with 300Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync to improve visual performance by varying the refresh rate of the screen to match that of the GPU, thus eliminating the jerky game. A low response time of 0.5 ms (G to G). The Nitro XV272U KF monitor is based on an Ergostand.

Acer CB273U Monitor: the Acer CB273U is a 27-inch WQHD (2560 × 1440) IPS 8-bit color monitor. Acer offers this one for creators who like to play games in parallel.

Acer also provided us with another projector, the L811 Laser.

Acer L811 laser projector: an ultra short throw laser projector that offers 4K resolution compatible with HDR10 and a brightness of 3000 lumens. It is able to offer a projection of 120 inches from only 31 cm. Content can also be projected in 3D at 144Hz 24P via 3D Blu-ray.
