OPPO A96 brings plenty of photography features to a budget phone
The OPPO A96 phone is now available in Australia, with the $399 handset offering another entry-level option for budget-conscious consumers.
On the back of the mobile company’s flagship Find X5 series, the OPPO A96 is a more affordable phone with plenty of features to its name. For starters, the A96 has a 6.59-inch 90Hz display at a higher-than-FHD 1080×2412 resolution. Depending on what you’re using it for, adaptive refresh rate technology adjusts the rate refresh so it’s smooth when needed while preserving battery life. To make unlocking easier, you can use either your fingerprint on the side of the phone or face recognition.
As for said battery, the OPPO A96’s 5000mAh battery supports 33W SUPERVOOCTM fast charging, so a 30-minute charge boosts the phone to just over half capacity. Internally, the A96 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G Mobile Platform chip, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage powering the Android 11 device. OPPO claims the A96 is capable of better multitasking and a smoother overall experience, and you can expand storage via the Micro SD card slot.
On the back, you’ll find a dual camera array that includes a 50MP rear camera designed to accommodate high pixel count and high photosensitivity. This camera also supports 5x digital zoom and up to 20 burst shots. A 2MP bokeh camera is also included in the range, enabling portrait mode photography with blurred backgrounds, ideal for capturing that bokeh effect of light sources in the distance.
Meanwhile, the front camera of OPPO A96 is 16MP, aided by several features including AI natural retouching and 360-degree fill light function, which helps brighten and increase the clarity of photos. taken in low light environments.
With the camera and photography at the center of any modern phone, the OPPO A96 also includes a range of features aimed at increasing the photography capabilities of a budget phone. These features include AI Palette, Neon Portrait, Flash Snapshot and Selfie HDR, all geared towards versatility in a range of settings.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a phone ad without mentioning the color options on offer. Locally, the OPPO A96 is currently available in Starry Black and Sunset Blue. Now available from major Australian retailers in-store and online, OPPO’s latest is the case for a budget phone with attractive photography features.
