UW Technics has announced a new TTL optoelectronic converter compatible with the Nauticam NA-A7C case for the Sony a7C. The user-installable device can be operated in TTL and manual modes with various Ikelite, Inon, Retra, Sea & Sea and Subtronic strobes, and high speed synchronization (HSS) of up to 1 / 8000s is supported with the Retra strobes. TTL converter for controlling underwater strobes for the new Nauticam NA-A7C housing
Pavel Kolpakov, the inventor of innovative TTL flash control systems for underwater photos, shared information on the latest TTL circuit released by his brand UW Technics. This product from UW Technics is a SONY compatible TTL circuit, – Internal TTL converter for Nauticam NA-A7C underwater boxes, intended for SONY full frame mirrorless A7C camera.

The combined circuit, consisting of an optical TTL system and an electrical TTL system, is on a single board with both triggering methods available separately or simultaneously. High Speed ââSynchronization (HSS) of up to 1 / 8000s for âRetraâ strobes is also available on board.
Photographers can use a fiber optic cable or Nikonos sync cord for underwater flashes, depending on their preference. Dual sync cords (Sea & Sea, Ikelite) are also supported.
Easy user installation
The installation is very simple and takes about 1 minute. The electronic circuit is fixed by a special metal support and 2 bolts.
The powerful LEDs of the TTL converter are inserted directly into the Nauticam optical partitions.

Optional electrical partitions
Optional electrical bulkheads (with 4-pin MicroMatch plug) available for Nauticam cases (Nikonos, Ikelite, and S-6 style) are compatible with UW Technics TTL circuitry. User can connect underwater flashes by sync cords including dual sync cords. It has wide possibilities to assemble its own configuration of the flash control system, can even combine electrical and optical TTL control for some underwater flashes simultaneously.
TTL flash illumination accuracy
Tests have shown very good TTL accuracy over a wide range of camera settings. Users can change aperture, shutter speed, ISO, metering type, etc., but TTL-Converter automatically supports flash lighting of appropriate intensity. The latest firmware contains an accurate TTL profile for each type of strobe: Inon Z330 / Z240 / S2000; Retra Pro, Ikelite DS161 / DS160; Mer & Sea YS-D1 / YS-D2 / YS-250; Subtronic Pro-270 / Pro-160. The strobe type can be easily adjusted by a built-in miniature 10-position rotary switch.
No mechanical on / off switch
UW Technics TTL converters do not need an external ON / OFF switch. The device turns on / off automatically via the camera control. It is a very comfortable function for the user, he does not need to think about turning on the device and does not need to have a mechanical switch on the case.
Incredibly long battery life
Battery life: 2 years in continuous operation. The products have microcurrent consumption from a pair of CR2032 batteries and an automatic on / off switch. Users do not need to worry about the battery during the dive trip.
Easy control via the camera menu
TTL circuitry is fully controllable through camera menu including switching: TTL / M, 1st / 2nd curtain sync, slow sync, flash exposure compensation +/-, manual intensity adjustment flash in M ââmode, flash “off”, and so on.
Convenient adjustment of flash intensity via camera menu
Manual flash intensity adjustment 1/64â¦ 1/1 is available using the camera dial and camera scale.
The firmware of the TTL circuit has a special module, which allows photographers to use 3 variants of the M mode, including the classic method and the advanced method. The advanced control allows you to manually adjust the intensity of the underwater strobe light via the camera scale (approx. 1/64â¦ .. 1/1). In this case, the photographer does not need to operate the dial switches on the flash body, he or she can simply keep their hands on the housing, switch to M mode and adjust the flash intensity to the using camera controls.
